Description

We are seeking a Technical Casualty Claims Handler to join an established and dynamic Claims Department. You will play a crucial role in supervising the technical performance of the unit and acting as the technical referral point for the team.

You won't have any direct reports, but you will assist the Claims Manager from a technical performance perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and enhance the technical performance of the unit daily.
  • Serve as the primary technical referral point for Claims Handlers.
  • Manage a personal portfolio of high value and complex claims efficiently.
  • Ensure that reserves are regularly reviewed and maintained accurately.
  • Conduct technical audits of handlers' work and deliver feedback on training needs.
  • Authorise payment requests in accordance with established authority levels.
  • Support and comply with governance, including all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide input to the Team Manager on technical aspects of appraisals.
  • Identify training needs and effectively plan and deliver training and mentoring.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring completion within set timescales and meeting client and company requirements.
  • Participate in client interactions and supplier management as directed.

To be considered:

  • Strong technical expertise in casualty claims handling with demonstrable experience of dealing with losses in excess of £100K.
  • Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous if you have worked with Highway and Local Authority accounts.
  • You will be approachable and engaging with colleagues, with the ability to deliver feedback in a constructive manner.

If you are a proactive claims professional with a keen eye for technical excellence and a passion for team development, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. In return you will receive a basic salary up to £40,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package. Depending on your location, this opportunity could be a pure remote role or you could work hybrid if you prefer and are commutable to a regional office.
