Description


We are seeking a development-orientated Property Underwriter to join a long-established team of Real Estate Underwriters, based in Birmingham.

As a Property Underwriter, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate and also client management / servicing, because you will be working with some major pension providers in order to discuss proposition and service delivery, and then underwriting the business too - well at least overseeing the underwriting with the rest of the team.

You must have the experience of underwriting wide portfolios of Commercial property owners / real estate, and ideally be comfortable building rapport with Clients. If you do, you would present as the ideal individual.

The Role as a Property Underwriter


  • Reviewing and analysing commercial property insurance quotations and renewals
  • Assessing property risks and determining appropriate coverage and pricing
  • Communicating with clients, account executives, and industry partners to gather underwriting information
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure effective underwriting processes
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent customer service
  • Work with Junior members of the team, assisting with referrals, and a bit of coaching along the way

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Property Underwriter or Commercial Combined.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Commercial Underwriting trends, and the real estate market in general hat is relevant to the role.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
