Description

Lead and develop SME trading operations, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and client satisfaction. Responsible for shaping broking and distribution strategies, managing key relationships, and ensuring delivery of high-quality insurance solutions across the SME portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Trading Strategy & Execution


  • Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue, improve conversion, and enhance retention.
  • Set and monitor performance targets across new business, renewals, and cross-sell activities.

Performance Management


  • Analyse trading data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Lead regular trading reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Market Engagement


  • Build strong relationships with insurer partners to secure competitive terms and schemes.
  • Negotiate capacity, pricing, and service levels to meet trading objectives.

Team Leadership


  • Lead, mentor, and develop sales and support teams.
  • Promote a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Digital & eTrade Optimisation


  • Enhance online quote journeys and eTrade performance in collaboration with digital and product teams.
  • Ensure trading platforms operate efficiently and accurately.

Compliance & Governance


  • Ensure all trading activity complies with FCA and internal risk frameworks.

Financial Performance


  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to achieve financial targets.

Stakeholder Collaboration


  • Partner with internal teams to deliver integrated solutions and improve client outcomes.

Experience & Qualifications


  • Proven leadership in commercial SME broking.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset.
