We're delighted to be working with a growing and highly respected independent insurance broker in Amersham, who are looking to recruit an ambitious SME Account Handler / Account Executive to join their expanding commercial team.
This is a hybrid role combining account management and new business activity, offering the chance to work on a varied SME client portfolio while actively contributing to business growth.
The Role:
As an SME Account Handler / AE, you'll manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized commercial clients, providing excellent service while also identifying and converting new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing client renewals, mid-term adjustments, and day-to-day queries
- Preparing and issuing accurate policy documentation and reports
- Building relationships with existing clients and identifying cross-sell opportunities
- Prospecting and converting new SME clients, supporting business growth
- Liaising with insurers to secure competitive terms and coverage
- Ensuring compliance with FCA regulations and internal standards
- Supporting the wider team in delivering first-class client service
About You:
- Experience in a commercial insurance role (broker or insurer side)
- Strong understanding of SME insurance products, including property, liability, and combined covers
- Confident communicator with excellent organisational and relationship-building skills
- Proactive and commercially minded with a drive to grow both your portfolio and the business
- Experience using Acturis or similar broking systems (desirable)
- Cert CII qualified or working towards (support available)
