BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER SOUTH REGION


 


Reporting to Head of Business Development


 


Role Purpose


 


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities from both existing and new clients in the South of the UK. The focus of the Business Development Manager will be to develop new business across the company's full product and services range. There will be a strong focus on developing new partners to meet targets and growth ambitions.


 


Responsibilities


 



  • Drive the development of sales to prospective new clients forboth products and services with the objective of building premium income volume to drive the business' targets and goals, engagingand building relationships with those new contacts.

  • Provide input and feedback on new sales initiatives and help carry out their delivery to prospective new partners and clients.

  • Further develop existing relationships with an emphasis on new opportunities, building a pipeline of new prospects within the territory allocated.

  • Use own network to identify and nurture new prospects that fit with thestrategic aimsof the company.

  • Drive the sales cycle with new prospects from initial contact through to business proposal and tender, representing and promoting the companyproposition throughout.

  • Build solid relationships internally with key teams such as marketing, development, underwriting and claims to optimise sales pitch and opportunity.

  • Develop awareness of competition and competitor actions and feed back into the Sales & Marketing and Product Design team.

  • Be the centre point for all new business enquiries that are driven from multiple sources within the territory/region, including internally from across the wider teams, referralsand self-generated network.

  • Provide sales forecasting and reporting for own territory, regularly providing reporting to Head of Business Development on own activity.

  • Fulfil product training to strategic and key connections to assist in the knowledge transfer of the company's products and services.


 


The Candidate


 



  • Strong track record within a salesfocused role, showing success in delivering results.

  • Experienced in building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, delivering against ambitious sales targetsand developing new opportunities.

  • Substantial experience in confidently presenting and developing pitches for new business opportunities.

  • Strong networking, sourcing new leads and opportunities as well as onboarding and managing new business through to live.

  • A good understanding and use of key applications such as Powerpoint, Excel and Word.

  • Experience in and knowledge of the commercial general insurance market preferred.

  • Advantageous to have knowledge of Cyber Insurance, Management Liability Insurance and Officers Liability Insurance.
