Motor Trade Underwriter
Due to expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our clients Commercial Team as a Motor Trade Underwriter. We're looking for a candidate who enjoys working within a team environment, with the ability to develop and build relationships, along with solid problem solving skills.
This role will form part of a specialist team; this is a team dedicated to building relationships and growing accounts with a selected broker panel. The team will service Motor Trade Combined, Fleet, Property Owners and Commercial Combined and so experience in multiple product lines would be highly desired.
This is a hybrid role - A mix of working from the Manchester office, along with the flexibility of working from home too.
Your role?
- Profitably underwrite Motor Trade on a case-by-case basis, within appetite and underwriting criteria.
- Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and brokers as well as identifying new opportunities within the broker panel.
- Attend training, review meetings and social events when required.
- Maintain, and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
- Working closely with senior underwriters and supporting those more junior
Your experience and skills?
- Strong trading skills with experience in developing broker accounts to achieve profitable growth.
- Underwriting knowledge, specifically with previous experience in Motor Trade Underwriting
- The ability to assess and analyse data accurately and effectively
- The ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Good problem solving skills
- Motivated, driven and adapts to change, positively displaying a can do attitude.
- Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Passionate about own development within the insurance industry
- The ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals.
