Trainee Insurance Handler

About the role
Our Client is looking for Candidates who are looking to explore a role within Insurance and combining their interest in the rural community. You do not have to have any Insurance experience, but it is essential that you have experience of the Countryside/Rural life. This may mean you know about Agriculture, Equine, Country Estates, Shooting, Agricultural Machinery, Farming or Livestock. Full training will be given.
Key Responsibilities
To prepare renewal schedules and contact client prior to renewal within compliance manual timescales
Answer incoming new business enquiries and prepare new business quotations.
Negotiate alternative quotes - prior to renewal dates - where appropriate
Deal with all documentation, invoices, credit notes, etc. ensuring a smooth and trouble-free renewal for the client
Develop business opportunities including identification of opportunities for cross-referrals.
Act in-line with client requests and delivers beyond expectations.
Comply with file management, compliance procedures and FCA guidelines.
Foster good relations with insurance companies
Ensure that the delegated authority under agency agreements is not exceeded
Operate an effective credit control system and report as required.
Essential Attributes
An understanding of the farming, rural or countryside.
Good confident customer skills - both written & oral
Good negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters
Good organisational ability
- Well-presented, hardworking, pro-active team player who displays ability to utilize their own initiative
Advantageous Attributes
Knowledge of Word/Excel
- Agricultural, Farming, Equine, Livestock experience
Insurance knowledge

Salary negotiable dependent on experience, plus:

Money purchase pension scheme, 5% employer contribution rising to 10% after 5 years
