As Assistant Underwriter, you will:

  • Join the commercial underwriting team of this leading insurance business, in a role that will expand as your knowledge does.
  • You'll receive full training and coaching from the senior team as you learn all aspects of insurance, from rating and underwriting risks, to servicing brokers and clients.
  • Be challenged - as you learn and progress, your underwriting authority will expand, as will the cases you work on.
  • Enjoy a role that blends analytical thinking with relationship management and commercial.
  • Receive a competitive base salary, as well as additional benefits and flexitime.
  • Be encouraged to work from home (up to 80% of the working week) with time spent in the West Malling office for meetings and training.

You

  • An ambitious individual, seeking a career in professional and financial services. You may have experience of insurance, or a similar financial industry, but this isn't essential as graduates and school leavers will be considered - the key here is attitude to learning and wanting to succeed.
  • You'll have good analytical and numerical skills, as well as the ability to communicate on the telephone and in writing to convey commercial and professional information in a timely and efficient manner to clients.
  • You'll be looking for the opportunity to build a career in the rewarding insurance profession.
