The business is big on developing talent, and this role has been created with that in mind. It is ideal for a Commercial underwriter with a MINIMUM of 2 years underwriting experience in SME Commercial lines. Your career development is a certainty if you possess and mutual desire to progress.

You will be underwriting general commercial business - mainly renewals, but offering your support on new business quotations as your role develops - working with a unique and close panel of supporting broker offices across the UK. Premiums ranging from SME through to circa £40k.

Your responsibilities :


  • Renewal underwriting for an allocation of accounts
  • Support the new business process, and as you gain more experience, potential to become a focal point
  • Manage day to day underwriting queries, ensuring a high quality service to the supporting broker offices
  • Engage with risk management initiatives where appropriate.

 

Essential Skills :


  • A minimum of 2 years Commercial underwriting experience - whether with an insurer, and MGA, or under a Delegated Authority
  • Cert CII is hugely desirable
  • Strong communication skills, as much of this is about positive attitude and endeavour
  • Strong attention to detail, to ensure high standards of underwriting are maintained
